Lima – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco – Colca – Arequipa

Peru concentrates a lot of history, unique cultural experiences and the best of all is that you will always be impressed with its gastronomy, not in vain has been elected for 8 consecutive years as the best culinary destination in the world until 2019, in this tour, you can enjoy the gastronomic variety that we have visiting places of dream and rich food.

our experience will start in lima known for the great variety of restaurants and good food that you will find in the city. We dive into the heart of the Peruvian Andes to taste the varieties of potatos this place has to offer and eat some delicious Cusquenian tamales and choclo con queso during our tours in the Sacred Valley and Machupicchu.

We finish our culinary experience, visiting the city of Arequipa and tasting the stuffed rocoto during our tour in the famous Colca Canyon and seal our visit tasting the handmade Arequipa’s ice creams from this part of the country.

Intinerario

Day 01: Transfer from Lima airport to Miraflores.

Our staff will be waiting for you at Lima airport, to accompany you to your hotel in Miraflores. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 02: City tour in Lima

This day we will start our tour, visiting the church of San Francisco, then we will visit the Plaza Mayor. Then we will walk through the colonial streets of the historical centre of Lima and pass by the Cornado Bar, where we will taste a typical Peruvian aperitif. In the afternoon we will go to the restaurant “Lobo de Mar” to taste a delicious Peruvian ceviche accompanied by dishes from the Peruvian coast.  In the afternoon we will visit the bohemian district of Barranco and meet a local artist with a long career in Peru. We will enjoy a special dinner and then return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest. (B,L,D)

Day 03: Flight to Cusco, transfer to the Sacred Valley

We will start our day by departing from the hotel to the Lima airport for our domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival we will head to the Sacred Valley where we will visit the village of Chinchero, also known as the village of weavers. After having an exhibition of Andean textiles, we will continue our journey to the place where we will have lunch. Then we check into the hotel in the afternoon. (B,L)

Day 04: Sacred Valley Tour

This day we will visit the famous salt mines in the town of Maras, then we will visit the Inca town of Ollantaytambo. After visiting these two places we will have a special gastronomic experience tasting a delicious pachamanca, prepared by our expert chefs in Andean cuisine. After this gastronomic feast we will return to the hotel to rest and recover energy until the next day (B,L).

Day 05: FD Machu Picchu Tour

We will depart from the hotel to Ollantaytambo train station, where we will take our train to Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes we will board the bus that will take us directly to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu.

We will visit all the corners of this magical place and accompanied by our expert guide we will be able to decipher the enigmas of this enigmatic place.

At the end of the tour we will go to the hotel in Aguas Calientes to take a well-deserved rest. Our included dinner in the town of Aguas Calientes will allow us to continue enjoying the local gastronomy (B,L,D).

Day 06: Second day in Machu Picchu

This day we will have the opportunity to return to Machu Picchu and feel once again the magic of this place. After the visit to the Inca llaqta, we will have lunch in a local restaurant where we will continue to discover more flavours of Peruvian food. In the afternoon we will take our train back to Ollantaytambo station and then our bus back to Cusco. (B,L)

Day 07: Walking tour in Cusco City.

Cusco will welcome us as always with its colonial monuments and its rich history of hundreds of years ago, we will discover it walking through its cobbled streets and knowing its most outstanding monuments.

Before heading to our next destination we will pass by the food market of the city and buy some products for our lunch that will be prepared by ourselves, we will have a first class gastronomic experience, as we will visit a local kitchen to prepare traditional dishes of our region.

At the end of the cooking classes we will taste our dishes accompanied by a glass of Peruvian wine.

We will return to the hotel in the afternoon and the group will have the opportunity to have a free afternoon to explore Cusco. (B,L)

Day 08: Flight to Arequipa and city tour

Depart Cusco airport for the city of Arequipa, known as the white city of Peru because of its white ashlar buildings. Upon arrival in Arequipa we will visit its colonial monuments and its market. Then we will go to a “quinto restaurant” where we will be able to taste and discover the flavours of Arequipa’s food. In the evening we will have the night free and we will have dinner on our own.

Day 09: Bus trip to the Colca Canyon

After visiting the city of Arequipa, this day we will depart to the Colca Canyon and on the way we will be able to see part of the mountains and the volcano that surrounds the city of Arequipa.

We will have lunch on the road and after travelling for 5 hours we will arrive at the village of Chivay which is the entry point to the canyon.

We will arrive at the hotel mid afternoon and we will have our dinner included and the opportunity to enjoy the hot springs of this place (B,L,D).

Day 10: Tour to Colca Canyon, Cruz del Condor – Return to Arequipa

We will leave the hotel early in the morning to go to the Cruz del Condor, a place known for being the observatory of the Andean condors that will fly over us showing the majesty of their flight and the size of their wings. We will continue the tour enjoying a very special morning visiting the villages along the Colca Canyon and after a traditional lunch, we will return to Arequipa in the afternoon to arrive and enjoy our farewell dinner. Day 11: Flight back to Lima and home.

Our staff will escort you from the hotel to the local airport for your flight back to Lima and then your international flight back home. (B)
