Peru is home to 119 endemic bird species found nowhere else in the world. Due to geographical, climatic and evolutionary factors, Peru is home to more than 1,800 bird species, making it a privileged country for birding. We strive to have a qualified staff to share all their knowledge about birds with our clients, visiting: the coast, the Andes and the jungle of this wonderful country.

Intinerario

Day 01: Transfer from Lima airport to the hotel.

Our staff will be waiting for you at the international airport in Lima, to accompany you to your hotel located in the district of Miraflores. check-in at the hotel.

Day 02: Birdwatching in the Villa Swamps

We will wake up early so that the private transport will take us to the “Pantanos de Villa” area, birdwatching all morning and having a break for breakfast, after a productive morning identifying birds, we will return to Lima for lunch.

After lunch in the afternoon we will continue our birding visit to “El Olivar Park” and return to the hotel to rest. Dinner is at the passengers’ expense.

Day 03: Flight from Lima – Cusco

Early departure from the hotel in Lima to take the domestic flight to Cusco, arriving in the capital city of the Inkas.

Arriving to the Capital City of the Inkas, we transfer to the Sacred Valley and on the way we stop to visit the “Town of the Andean weavers” Chinchero; After an exhibition of Andean textiles we continue our journey through the valley and have lunch in a typical restaurant of the place. Afterwards we will check into the hotel to rest from our first day in the valley. ( B,L,D)

Day 04: Birdwatching in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Early in the morning we will leave for our full day Birdwatching, we will visit the hummingbird observatory of the Ensifera camp located in the outskirts of the village of Yanahuara. After lunch we will continue our journey visiting other birding areas in the Sacred Valley. We will return to the hotel for our respective rest. (B,L)

Day 05: Machupicchu

This day we will leave the hotel towards the train station in Ollantaytambo, where we will take our tourist train that will take us to Machupicchu. This mythical journey will allow us to enter one of the most pristine areas of Peru, home to endemic birds that are protected by the Peruvian government. Arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes we will have lunch and then start the visit to the Inca complex of Machupicchu, in the afternoon we will return to the hotel and then we will have a welcome dinner. At the end of the day we will spend the night at the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 06: Birdwatching in Machupicchu

We will start the morning very early in order to do our endemic birdwatching in the area of Machupicchu and the town of Aguas Calientes, in the afternoon we will have our lunch and then we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Afternoon we will take the private transport back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.(B,L)

Day 07: Birdwatching at Huacarpay Lagoon

This day we will leave the hotel towards the south valley and visit the Huacarpay Lagoon where we will have a productive morning identifying and photographing birds around the lagoon. In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco for lunch, afternoon  walking tour  visiting the historical part of cusco city. Overnight at the hotel. (B,L)

Day 08: Free day in Cusco

This free day you will have the option to take an mystical tour in Cusco or perhaps a cooking class followed by a Latin dance workshop. Farewell dinner included.(B,D)

Day 09: Flight back to Lima

On this day you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Cusco Airport for your domestic flight back to Lima. End of services. (B)
